Flight from hell

last day in Singapore woke up at 10am checked out and headed to the airport early.

I been sweating like a junkie going cold turkey, so was happy to be in a air conditioned airport for a while!

flight was at 5:45pm - Singapore time

all the stuff I packed is becoming a bit of a chore to carry, every time I sit down I can't get up!

Stuck in chair with baggage:

Board the plane for a 7 hour flight to Melbourne, for our connection to Auckland, try and get some kip,

It's no good, for some reason I can't sleep the plane is shaking like crazy!

Also i have no idea if i should sleep.

Here is an example of how your body clock gets messed up

what time do I eat? What time do I sleep?

God knows.....

got to Melbourne at 5am!

Boarded plane for Auckland which is a 4 hour flight (shortest yet!)

still can't sleep

Landed in Auckland, waited at baggage claim to be told our bags are still in Melbourne they will arrive tomorrow?

Bags were on a different plane?

why???????

Why!!!!!!!!!

13 hours travelling get to our hostel.

had enough there's two Irish girls talking to me I don't understand them

I'm going to sleep.

hangovers, tours and msg

After a night of drinking with the guys and girls, from the hostel with a slight hangover, me and Adrian went to the Singapore history museum for a tour.

Outside

Entrance

There was a lot of interesting facts about how Singapore grew to the city it is now, however it was too much information, for my alcohol fried brian, I had to switch from "adult" tour to "children"

that's better!

(yes pictures are the wrong orientation, I was hungover!)

Once we left the museum, we had a look around a electronics store for a camera adaptor and a few other bits, then decided to put some money together and buy a cheap netbook. The make Is lenovo so we called it "Lenny"

*Proud owner

after meeting someone with a netbook using it for Internet, back-up photos and skype it was a no brainer, plus would be better than shitty Internet cafes.

after a long day and hangover I was looking forward to a decent meal, i sat down and ordered this:

And got this:

it doesn't even look the same!

I struggled to finish this msg soaked, deep fried turd that was before me but succeeded.

this is the quality of food in Singapore in most places, the above meal cost me with rice

£7.50

:@

I can't even finish this blog due to the food swarming around my guts the room is spinning it's late

goodnight x

Randomers + casino + sights + rooftop swimming pool + drinks!

I'll try and keep this one brief! As there was a lot to cover!

meet up with two dudes, from Brighton who were staying, in our hostel for one night and headed down to the Singapore art museum.

We saw half of it, before getting kicked out.

(your supposed to pay??)

Here is one piece I call:

"jelly babies"

We then got some food, from the local MSG grease feast market. Adrian had a drink, which I call "evil" because that's what it tastes like!

God knows what was in it, caramel? grass? coconut? milk?green beans? coffee????

Fuck knows

After this talk a walk along the Marina bay, to get a view of the city business district which was good.

Day

Night

saw a lightwork show and headed off to the casino!

unfortunately being a backpacker, I had no money to gamble, so had a look around and saw Ollie (dude from Brighton) lose a bet.

(where did my money go hhhhmmmmmm........).

ended the night meeting some girls also staying in our hostel and went out for drinks.....

I have no pictures or real memories of this night because I was:

• a bit drunk
• didn't take a camera
• some things are best keep on holiday!

13 hour flight and Singapore delight

Thursday flight to Singapore update!

woke up at 7:30am by phone call from dad, to say enjoy your trip followed by nagging mum stressing over traffic.

double checked everything, had one piece of toast then left for airport.

mum never drove to heathrow before and these were the instructions.

don't ask.

little sister was navigating, along with Tom Tom

got to airport in an hour! only took one wrong turn and held up a bit of traffic.

well done

got on plane for 13 hour flight, and said goodbye to London using flightcam (camera outside plane)

After having the shakiest plane and trying to sleep with a dodgy stomach, I could see the Singapore sunshine beaming through

jumped off the plane, picked up bag and left airport the humidity here, is something else I was sweating out of every hole.

got the air conditioned train to china town happy we got off that plane!

checked in got some food and went for a wonder around, there's lots of old men, on their death beds, girls with big heads and long legs.

(adrian looking happy)

looking around can't help but think this Is a mini Tokyo, I'll post some more pics soon and let you decide

Packing is a bitch

The day before I jet off, for 5 months and I need to pack and get everything sorted.

Early start followed by a good breakfast!

Before unearthing the many pieces of crap I have to take, I need to phone AA, who I have bought a mastercard cash card from.

Idea is to top your card up by text, or online from your savings account and only spend whats on the card perfect for travelling....

(also good if you get robbed too!)

One problem. I can't top up, so I ring customer service

"Sorry sir our system is down and are unable to help at this moment in time"

hhmmmmmm I leave tomorrow, had the card for a week and STILL can't top up?

Thanks AA.....

So I finish my lovely bacon sandwich.

*burp* with orange juice and coffee.

Anyways lets get on, I bring everything down and realise I have a few small pieces missing, nothing major but as you can tell its a lot of stuff!

So I catch the train to wimbledon, buy a small lock for day bag, razors and torch.

Don't you just love south west trains so reliable.

Got what I needed and grabbed a snack on the way back, since Im going to be gone a while thought id get a dirty kebab, so the food will hopefully taste better when I'm away!

i begin to pack my thyroxine, hayfever spray, malara tablets, immodium, painkillers and anitbiotics into this bag...

got a feeling im going to be known as the "dealer" in most hostels.

Seriously look at this shit.

it's like I'm florence nightingale. (only with man bits).

There's also all my toiliteries there. toothbrush toothpaste etc etc.
Next up gadgets.....

one iphone 3gs with broken volume buttons, sleep button im surprised its still working. I loaded this with TomTom maps for Thailand, Australia and New Zealand. Along with all my music and a handy device for the internet.

Got an old nokia with international sim card for cheap calls, kindle loaded with books and a PSP loaded with SNES, NES, MEGA DRIVE and N64 games.

Travel adaptors and camera also.

This is already doing my nut in remembering this, so more coffee

2 hours later of trying to stuff in 5 months worth of drugs, clothes, gadgets and travel essentials I finally do the mission impossible.

Get it all in.

Time to chill for a bit. My cousin Vinny is on classic film so watch that.

Have my last meal with the family, chat to my main man Adrian about meeting up at the airport and checking in online, only to find out I can't print my boarding pass from the website and it's dissapeared off the face of the earth.

too bad since me and Adrian had seats next to each other, but this may no longer be the case.

Don't fancy a 13 hour flight to Singapore, with some beer breathed Landlord type bloke, who farts every hour just enough to keep you from falling asleep.

Or breathing.

We will see in the morning...
